Groomsmen

  • Pepper Lang
    Jimmy
    Groomsmen
I've known Jimmy since childhood, we didn't really get to know each other till later in our high school years. We both helped our local youth Ministry together for several years, and we later ended up going to college together. We've been on many crazy adventures together. Jimmy helped out with my proposal, he suited up and was our private waiter for the evening. Jimmy's been a good friend through all these years and I'm happy that he was there from the very beginning of Sunmarie and my engagement, and now he'll be there to see the very beginning of our eternity together.

Fun Fact: The last time Jimmy and I played 1 on 1 basketball, I won. This is significant because Jimmy is now like a 7 foot monster.

  • Warren Duthie
    Toshi
    Groomsmen
Toshi and I have known each other for many years. We now go to college together, play on the Stevens Ultimate team together, and are most likely going to nationals together!

One of the coolest memories I have of Toshi, is when we went on a road trip to North Carolina during spring break. We had a lot of fun, but probably the funniest memory was at Kill Devil Hills, NC. Details of which I will not bestow here...

Fun Fact: Toshi is scared of water.

  • Patrick Gabaldon
    Karlsun
    Groomsmen
Karlsun is now my brother, which is pretty crazy. We’ve known each other since we both started attending Sunday school together. We’ve done some pretty cool stuff together. One time the two of us and a group of friends drove up to a ski resort at the end of the season; we brought sleds, and shredded the mountain.

Fun Fact: I went to Disneyworld for the first time with Karlsun

  • Jeremy Poper
    Raymond
    Groomsmen
Raymond and I have known each other, well forever... Raymond is my older brother. We are very similar in our characters, but as anyone who knows us can tell you, our personalities are completely different.

Fun Fact: When I was only 8, and Raymond was 9 our parents took us to Japan. Our parents, wanting us to get the full experience, decided that we should stay longer to get a more full experience, so for a few weeks traveled around Japan with our grandparents. At the end of that adventure, the two of us made the transatlantic return flight back home all on our own.

    Kuni
    Groomsmen
Kuni and I’ve had many memorable moments, but perhaps the one I remember most vividly, was the weekend after Sunmarie and I we’re first matched. Jimmy, Kuni, and I were at a state park in upstate NY. We got there and just started walking and talking, we must have walked through half of the entire park, miles and miles, just sharing and talking. I remember at one point, probably around 2 in the morning, we all thought we saw a mountain lion at the side of the road, and all of us started running for our lives. We finally ended up sleeping right as the sun was starting to rise… good times.

Fun fact: Kuni and I tried out for the same professional Ultimate team

  • Garret Poper
    Sung ho
    Groomsmen
Sung ho is one cool dude. Sung ho and I have been volunteering together at the same youth ministry for over 4 years now. We’ve done many things together, one cool thing we did together, was backpacking Kittatinny Ridge. We backpacked for 3 days, slept under the stars, ate nothing but granola bars and peanut butter sandwiches, pooped in holes, failed at building a raft, and generally had a blast! I remember the last day, it started pouring and we were soaked, but the whole while back to our cars we were just singing in the rain.

Fun Fact: Sung ho and I have similar first names

Bridesmaids

  • Melissa Root
    Andria
    Maid of Honor
Andria and Sunmarie’s first outing took place on a a warm summer evening sometime in high school when they decided to go boating in a local park. At the start of the outing, they were simply acquaintances, but after Andria accidentally lost her balance and fell into the lake, Sunmarie rescued her soaking wet pal and a wonderful friendship was forged. Since then, Andria and Sunmarie have been friends for over 10 years. Andria and Sunmarie have always found a kindered spirit in one another as they both are pursuing the arts. Andria studied theater, while Sunmarie studied fine art, but they have always been an inspiration to one another.
  • Stephanie Weber
    Natascia
    Bridesmaid
Sunmarie first met Natascia freshman year in college when she walked into an oil painting class dressed in all white with rhinestone studded high heel shoes. That was the start of a great friendship. Since then, Natascia has taught Sunmarie everything she ever wanted to know and more, about Italian fashions and high quality face creams.Beyond that, they share a deep and enduring friendship. Over the past 7 years, they have always been by each other's side through life's little ups and downs. Natascia has a vivid, energetic and cheerful disposition that always makes people feel right at home.
  • Jamie Tolles
    Ruth
    Bridesmaid
Sunmarie and Ruth's friendship started senior year of high school when they switched their name badges at a graduation planning meeting. Ever since that moment, they have been consistent friends over the past 9 years. Ruth is always one to appreciate life's little blessings. Sunmarie’s fondest memory of Ruth was a Senior high outing to Medieval Times where Ruth marveled at the over-sized cookies served there during the dinner show. It was one of the best high school outings ever! Ruth's kind, sweet and caring disposition, along with her deep devotion to God makes her an inspiration to everyone she meets.
  • Bridget Poper
    Joy
    Bridesmaid
Joy, the older of the two Burns sisters, just returned from a year of missionary work and is currently in her first year of college. Joy loves to travel and is a sweet and kind-hearted person. Sunmarie and Joy have grown to be friends as well as sisters over the past three years.
  • Lindsay Poper
    Grace
    Bridesmaid
Grace Burns, the younger of the two Burns sisters, is a cheerful and energetic person. She never ceases to make Sunmarie smile and laugh. Her energy is contagious. Grace is in her senior year of high school and is looking forward to the future.
  • Christine Hamilton
    Diana
    Bridesmaid
Diana and Sunmarie have known eachother for nearly their entire lives. They grew up together in the same two family house for many years and view each other almost as sisters. One of Sunmarie's favorite childhood memories with Diana was playing "Alligator" in the backyard, where they would run from the automatic yard light and pretend alligators were chasing them. Diana fondly remembers Sunmarie as "The one who always took her barbie dolls". As you can see, their relationship goes far back. Throughout the years they have kept up the friendship, even while Diana trekked the Globe, living the past five years in Germany and Korea, and now back in America.

Fun Fact: One evening in Newark, Sunmarie and I were sitting and talking in my car, and all of a sudden we see a hummingbird, as clear as day right in front of our car. It was June 16th 2012; We took it as a memorable moment, but only after we picked our wedding date, did we realize we had seen the hummingbird, the same exact day, last year.

Gifts

Bed Bath & Beyoond

What we want most for our wedding is to have all our friends and family to celebrate. Many of you are coming from a long ways away, we understand travel is not cheap. Having you with us on our special day means more than any gifts, so please use the money to get here.

If you do sincerely want to honor us with gifts, we have prepared a registry; We did not wish to start our lives with 20 toasters. We have decided to register with www.Amazon.com , take a look and if you notice something you think would be useful to a new Bride and Groom, and would like to bless us, we appreciate it.
